The One X7 v3.1.0

The idea of this update was to bring my Nokia X7 custom firmware up to date.
It is now on the same level as my latest Belle Refresh CFW for the E7...

My brother was asking me for an update for his X7 a while ago.
I wanted to get this task done, before the world ends ;)

Read on for the release notes

Why v3.x?

If you read the description about how I use version numbers, you may ask why this is version 3.x and not v2.2.0.
(If you did not read the description, go and read it! I didn't write it just for fun :p)

The answer is simple. v2.x was released at the 05.09.2012.
Since then I was working on many different devices/versions... starting from scratch based on OFW instead of continuing v2.x seemed to be easier for me.

So it is not v3.x because we have a new base, this CFW has a new major version number because I started over on this device... it is still based on the latest Belle Refresh v111.040.1511.

translations

No! there won't be any full translations by freaxs_r_us.

Since this firmware was built for my brother, it contains the full English and German languages.

  1. Any chances for the N8 CFW to be updated? I am using S^4 Xeon for my girlfriend N8 right now but they are still not as smooth as your cfw that I used for my 808, well its maybe because of the different hardware though.

One more question when I try to flash my 808 with refurbish I always have error, is it because of the phoenix software version? I thought the latest is better. So I just use software reset.

    1. there will be a n8 update, but i don't know when i have time to work on it.
all belle refresh cfw's are based on v111.040.1511... so basically my n8 cfw is still up to date.

i use phoenix v2012.24.x to flash the 808, works best for me.
whats the exact error message on your pc?

    3. And Im using Phoenix Service Software 2012.36.001.48629 what do you think?

      Delete
    4. I think we have both already said a thousand times: do not use the newest Phoenix...the 2012.36 & the 2012.24 suck. 2012.16 for 808, and all other versions before that for others

      Delete
    5. i am using 2012.24 for the 808 and v2011.38 for n8, x7, e7...
there error you have is well known, use a different phoenix version and you will be fine!

  2. Hello, am I the only one who cant't sync his calender with Outlook2010?
I always get the error code: 80100011

    1. not sure about this... but so far i didn't have any issues with that in my cfw.
my brother (its his x7) is using exchange activesync to sync outlook and his phone.

try to set up nokia suite again.
set the folders to sync manually

    2. I tried your tips - didn't work
      I installed 3.11 - did't work
I synced everything at once :contacts, pictures, calender -->
      said it worked but didn't.

I found a conversation about this error message on :
      http://betalabs.nokia.com/trials/nokia-suite-3-4-beta-for-windows/bugreport/51660/80100011-error-when-syning-calendar-and-tasks-?ns=true

the reason for this problem were some deacitived processes in boot up with NetQin Mobile Security. (organizersrc, sms ds, mms ds) Seems that these processes are necessary for synchronisation from calendar, SMS and MMS with Nokia Suite.

Could it be something similar with your customized firmware?

    3. i disabled those services from startup in all my previous (and current) cfw's. still was able to sync via nokia suite/outlook...

if thats the problem just start contacts, messages and calendar once after startup and the processes will be running in background again.
(they are not removed, they just don't start up with the system anymore)

also in that case, it should not work via exchange activesync either i guess...

      any details about your configuration?
      (windows/office/nokia suite version)

did you do a clean flash?
or did you update/keep old system files from previous firmwares?

    4. btw. how did you restore your data after flashing?
(also what exactly did you restore?)

    5. Merry Christmas and thanks for your help over christmas.
I did a clean flash, first with 3.1.
When it didn't work I went back to 2.1 and everything worked.

Then with 3.11 I did a clean flash and formatted E.
First thing was to sync with Nokia Suite to get contacts etc. back.
      Everything except calender worked.

My system is running Windows7 - 64bit, Office2010 and the latest nokia suite.

I saw your answer at 04:00 in the morning, tried to reply but couldn't log in with my X7 ( another bug ;-) ???)

Enjoy Christmas and take your time, Im visting family for the next days - without my notebook.

      Thanks again

      Georg

    1. Hi Felsen2000,

glad you like my work, i hope you and your kids enjoy my cfws :)

the rompatcher can be a very complicated tool, even though if you already have the patches it is easy to handle.

if you ask me about a specific patch, i can try to explain it to you.
there are many patches available (you can add more than i did in my cfw by default, download and copy new patches to C:\patches\ or E:\patches\)...

if you want to know more about patches in general or even learn how to make them yourself, check out this tutorial by jnx_r:
      http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.php?topic=52455.0

while creating patches is a task for advanced users, i think that post still contains a lot of information for basic understanding.
      it is worth reading ;)
