  4. I need help mate!!! I can't seem to get phoenix to recognise and flash my phone!! It just chooses to start charging and then loads the file browser whilst phoenix is still waiting for the phone to connect! Please help, I'll like to get this done tonight!!

    1. try again a few more times...
when you flash for the first time, windows needs to install the device drivers.
if that doesn't happen fast enough, the device will simply connect in usb mass memory mode.

should be ready by your next try... use the same usb port and don't change/reinstall phoenix.

    2. Hi,

I must have tried a hundred times with the same result! I also uninstalled and reinstalled phoenix a couple of times.

I disable antivirus when I installed but I still get an error message when I launch it. It then works as expected until it gets to the part when it should recognise the phone but it doesn't.

    3. try to use another usb port/cable.
do not use usb hubs, on pc's the ones on the back (directly on mainboard) are best.

what phoenix version are you using?

    4. I'm using the same version you used in your tutorial: 2012.024...

    5. Is the error message when you launch the program normal??

      Delete
    6. what error?
there should not be any error when launching phoenix!

    7. I suspected that will be the problem but I always get an error when I launch phoenix. I'll post a screenshot when I get home! The error has got a lot of tech geeky stuff with the word "Connection" somewhere within it so might be the reason.

    1. but thats the "regular" error, when phoenix can not detect your phone...

you said something about an error at startup?

      Delete
    2. There should be two images there... The first is the phoenix error on startup

      Delete
    3. sorry, missed it.

that is definitly not normal... if it shows up everytime you start phoenix, i recommend to reinstall it.

at best redownload it (make sure its the cracked version), for example from my tools section or other trusted source.

uninstall phoenix first and then reinstall it, do not just overwrite it.
also make sure your antivirus is disabled during the installation.

you should be able to get rid of the error that way...

    4. Hi I had uninstalled and reinstalled it several times but the same issue.

However, I decided to use a "completely blind" laptop (from work shhh!!) without a firewall and antivirus and it works! Strange as i disabled my antivirus and all...

So it's worked but during the flashing process, the "finalizing" step failed but I'm able to bootup the phone and confirm ur cfw is on it!

      Strange indeed!!!

      Delete
    5. ok, glad you got it working.
      just for your information:
that finalizing process is not important. some users get timouts at the end everytime, some only at the first time flashing...
in that step phoenix is just checking the connection and waiting for a reply by the phone.

if the my cfw boots up, everything is 100% fine!

  6. I hope this can be flashed as update (not refurbish)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i don't know why people keep asking this :p
why don't you try via "update" and if not all changes are applied, or you experience problems, you flash again via refurbish?

my answer is always the same, i always recommend a clean start!

  9. im so so much fed up! Every time i connect my phone via nokia suite or pc suite it doesnt detect my device! Why? Any solution for this one? What will i do? When i turn to usb mass storage nokia suite detected it but when i put it to nokia suite mode it doesn't detect or recognized my phone at all. I can't install apps and everything, and im using my phone as modem. is there something wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  10. please reply asap. Even your previous cfw is like that. Every now and then when i want to use as modem, i usually do hard reset, and its too painfull for me.

    1. -i have ~2500 pictures myself and gallery start fast enough (2-4sec)
-joshlog is not created by myself, find it in daily mobile forum
      (i think chris_marsh fixed it for fp2)

the nokia suite usb connection works withouth any problem for me.
i never use the phone as modem option, but i don't see what it has to do with your problem anyway?
your message is getting very confusing at the end, can you try to be more specific?

  11. Hi first of all, thanks for you time and effort, i have a question, i am a Spanish speaking user, and i have a 808 Pureview, if i want you CFW in my phone i need to download your v2.3.0 of the RM-807 you created, i have to download also the Spanish_translation_fp2.rofs3.rar and overwrite the one in your pack? what else do i have to download, do i have to download the input too? i have experience flashing im been doing it since my first s60v5, so i don't have a problem in that department..

thanks for your time again, and for your answer.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. you will see that input and full translations are both rofs3. and you can only flash one rofs3 at a time... so the logical conclusion is, you need only one of them!
      (depending on what you prefer)

even though you already have some experience in flashing, i still recommend to read the "how to flash" guide. it answers questions like this very detailed ;)

      Delete
  12. yes i saw that the two of the are rof3, so i can only use one, can you specify more each one of them, the input and the translation???

if i use the input, then the phone is in English but i can input messages in Spanish?

if i use the translation, the i have a phone in Spanish, but i input text and messages in English?

    please can you explain more.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. that would make no sense whatsoever!!

input is just the keyboard language. flash the rofs3 for input if you want english menu and spanish keyboard.

      full translations are fully translated!
everything is in spanish (the keyboard is also included of course!)

    2. OK thanks now i get it.... Wish me luck!!!!

  13. could you add the Mod: change Menu button to Lock button on your cfw.. we desperately need it since the belle buttons are causing conflicts on fp2 due to the new search button on toolbar..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. isn't that mod available seperatly as an installer?
i don't want to add to many ui customisations, because they are always a matter of taste...

    thank you very much!

  15. sir 1507 is out any changelogs? make new cfw for this one boss! thanks very much! i really appreciate your work!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. where would i get a changelog for that?
      i don't work for nokia :p

but the small version number change is an indicator for a very small bugfix.
also the fact that some countries got 1506 as final version, suggests that its probably even just a location based difference... (like 610 was for the n8 (spanish provider fw))

      Delete
  16. Question: can i downgrade from a 1507 to the one 1506 (v2.3) somehow?
Can you please tell me how i handle phoenix in that case. Does Phoenix consider this a "downgrade".Must I tick the "allow SW downgrade option" or it there other instructions that I need to follow?

Im a little bit scared to try this out it again.
When I tried before today (in dead phone mode, no options ticked)it i almost bricked the phone for good. Phonenix said:(Asic CMT: Verifying communication to device...
    Waiting for communication response: 25
Waiting for communication response: 24....down to zero and then not findig the usb connection.
    ***
After may tries I finally managed to get a successful reflash by using the 1507 fw again, but only when I ticked the boxes "skip mode change after frimware updating" and "ignore invalid SW version". Don't know if both ticks where needed, but they apparently did the job....

    Replies
    1. as far as i know, there is no confirmed way to downgrade the 808...
you should always be able to flash again via the latest fw, so it should not brick for good.
that means you can try, but i doubt it will work.

      Delete
  17. So one cannot downgrade even within FP2 (1507->1506), too bad. Is it possible for you to make a "clone of your CFW v2.3 on a 1507-base", now that one has been able to pull out other language/writing files for Scandinavia etc?

  18. NO updates yet for our pureview? thanks! waiting!

  20. Wait. Im new to this site/blog... hello guys.. so I have a few questions, 1st so u seem to know alot about these nokia devices. I am now an owner of the 808 and what some cool features on it.. I have jail broken it using step by step instructions and I have gotten the scroll/lock screen feature. installed it works perfect when u have alot of contacts but does not work in picture mode. what exactly to u do with the software. again Im new and happen to stumble on ur page, seem like a pretty smart guy

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hi, welcome to my blog :)
what exactly do you mena by "scroll/lock screen feature"?
if you mean you used a mod for faster scrolling, it doesn't work in gallery because the 808 gallery is using qt.

about your second question "what exactly i do with the software", thats easy to explain... if you read the "description", you will see what a cfw is. and if you take a look at the changelog (summarized), you will see all differences compared to the original firmware.

let me know if you have further questions ;)
