TheOne 808 v4.2 Translation files
I changed the way I translate to a different method now. So this time you need a- rofs2 = Ui translation
- rofs3 = writing files if EXTRA writing needed, otherwise the standard rofs3 is fine
I can make more files if they are needed, but I changed it, because hardly nobody changes phone languages to others. So 1 Ui should be enough, and writing files with more than 1 writing language can be made anytime.
this saves me work and a lot of internet trafficing for us both
(p.s. my 102gb mediafire account is getting full)
I hope you agree with me about this, as it is a good update to the stuff I used to do before
now grab your files and have fun.
don't forget to share us, twitter us, facebook us and everything else you can think of
do NOT reupload my files, because I want to keep track of how many users there are.
and an occasional donation for beer, cigarettes, and electricity for my computer would be nice
"what is a programmer?" a living form that can turn beer, cigarettes, pizza & coffee into software
Instructions
1. Just get the download from TheOne as always2. get the translated files from me in your language
3. exchange the files you got from me with the original ones (rofs3 & uda, except in chinese versions --> rofs2 & uda)
Note: all files are in self-extracting zip files, just double-click to open them
Note: i know have a paid mediafire account for direct downloads, which wasn't cheap, so you can get your stuff without any annoying commercials
New translation Features:
- Translations files have been updated to fit the firmware correctly. I don't know what all I did.- fixed small calendar since last version
- all files have a custom ecom-3-0.spi, so you can include any language you want, in any way you want it
Features
- all needed translation files- if TTS (text to speech) is available for your language, then it is included
- all translated Rofs2 have English & your language
(so if you need to follow English tutorials, then you know where to go)
- all writing and keyboard files
- all dialer files
Known Bugs
- Third party Applications, for example: ROM patcher+, are not translated- some Ui translations won't boot to correct language, even though the files are correctly set
-> I don't know why
- Themes menu is broken
-> set phone language to english to change
-> will soon be fixed in upcoming version

ReplyDeletethats just how it is, also on original firmwares...
ReplyDeleteit is not for every single shot you make, it gets grouped (i think by date)
Any idea why english writing always gets activated after reboot? Even if it is not selected in the settings. I've used the German rofs2.
ReplyDeleteEric is in charge of translations, maybe he can help you when he is back online. He is currently unavailable:

All I can say is, I am using my own translation for the german keyboard and everything works fine for me.
I can send you my german ROFS3, if you want... but it is only the keyboard, not the full translations for menu.
Hi everybody! I've just discovered your work and I find it amazing.. you say "More than one extra language sets --> ONLY on request" . In fact I'd like several writing language (if my phone is in English it's just fine). How should I do? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi, if you know how the NokiaCooker works, you can simply merge the files from the different ROFS3's.
ReplyDeleteif you don't, just tell us what you need exactly ;)
I don't really know how to use Nokia Cooker unfortunately :( I'd like several writing languages (but only English/French UI) : English/French of course + Turkish + Italian + Spanish + Portuguese + Russian.. Tell me if it is possible. Thankx a loooot
ReplyDeleteThat should be no problem.
ReplyDeleteLet me check with Eric, he is in charge of translations ;)
Thank you so muuuuucccccchhhhh :)

ReplyDeleteif i dial, and servic command appears, when i choose the number, the number isnt appears in screen.maybe its bug.i try in delight cfw,its fine
ReplyDeletesorry mate, i don't fully understand.
ReplyDeletei never had issues with the dialer myself, nobody else reported issues like that either.
can you give me more details on that?
if i dial with service command, the number isnt appears in screen.here the screenshoot i used delight cfw now.if i used the one,its not appears like this picture.
ReplyDeletei never use service commands, but i checked on my 808 to make sure.
ReplyDeletewhen i open a new "service command" the keyboard is there. if i close the keyboard manually, i can bring it back by pressing the option button in the lower right corner... seems to be fine to me.
i mean the keyboard is there, but the number after i choose in screen is blank.if i tap number 1,the number 1 isnt readable.
ReplyDeleteits the scren capture.i did in delight cfw.in the one cfw,the number isnt appears.i had change the font same with delight cfw font, but its same result.can not show the number
ReplyDeleteHi Daniel, I'm Aries from Philippines. I've been using your impressive nokia 808 firmware "the one" for several months now. i've been really thinking about this for quite some time but, I wonder if you could help me regarding nokia 808's camera. is there a way that you could create a "camera mod" that will control the nokia 808's "exposure time?"
ReplyDeletei ask this because part of the reason why 808 develops those annoying "hot pixels" and "wrong" white balance is the fact that we can't control its exposure. i hope brilliant modders like you can figure out a way to add in your custom rom an "option" to dial-in a specific exposure time say 1.2 or 2 secs. regardless of the iso used from iso 50 upwards.
I sincerely hope that you could do something like this to add more value to the nokia 808's aging though legendary camera. With lumia 1020 which is about to receive its official nokia "black" update, 808 may no longer stand a chance by then as it does not support RAW. (If only this one could be made possible as well to this device))
My apologies for the rather lengthy post. i can't seem to find the contact button so i just decided to express my concern here for you Daniel. Should you find time, please send me a reply here in my email add (aries_perez23@yahoo.com) if it's alright since i seldom get to check your blogsite every now and then. i hope you could also teach me how to subscribe here in your blogsite via email.
sorry for being a little naive here Daniel.
thank you so much for your time to read this post and more power to you and your team as you keep the symbian community alive and well. looking forward to donate as well for your fine efforts especially to nokia 808 which is the only nokia phone I will hold on to until the day it no longer works.;-)

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI have problem see the webpage when I select the word bar, the top half will be cover up with a blank page and keyboard below. I need the top part to be always visible. or turn the keyboard and blank page to be partially transparent.
May I know does v4.2 have this features?
Hello guys,
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to get some help here, I am making a jump from N8/The One to a 808 and I would like to stay with the One CFW but I am having one issue with emails:
the Email screen only gives me the option to install a Exchange account, it does not list the other types (Nokia, Yahoo, Gmail) so after I configure my work email (Exchange, and it works fine) I don't have an option to install my Gmail - it only shows the exchange account type, and since I can only have 1 exchange account the phone asks me to delete it in order to add the Gmail.
Any feedback regarding this would be highly appreciated it!
Thanks in advance!
BB
Hi BB,
ReplyDeleteThats a common issue with Symbian...
For some reason, you need a SIM card to set up your email accounts.
Insert a valid SIM card into your 808 and you should be able to see all options in your email setup. Configuring Gmail should be no problem that way.
Regards
Daniel
Hello Eric, thanks for being part of "THE ONE" community, been loving the new ROM on my 808, much faster. Are there any plans to have an English/Chinese version of "The One 808" ROM? I am OK with the English menu and UI, just want an option to switch to Chinese from time to time while writing. Cheers :)
