How to flash (updated)

This is a tutorial to flash your phone via Phoenix, a full guide to install my CFW.

The following "how to" will explain the way to flash I recommend.
If you know what you are doing, you can use different settings and flash the way you prefer.

Phoenix installation

You can download Pheonix from the download section on my blog.
The latest version is not always the best choice. Depending on your mobile phone and PC configuration, you are probably better of using an older variant.

In my experience v2011.38.x works best for 1st gen S^3 devices (like N8, E7 and X7).
For the Nokia 808 you need at least version v2012.24.x.
(You may have to deactivate your Anti-Virus on your PC during the installation of Phoenix)

Basics you need to know

There are many files in the main package, four of them are important for modding:
CORE/ROFS2/ROFS3/UDA

Successful flashing only needs CORE & ROFS2.
The files in there define your ROM (Z:\).

UDA is highly recommended, because its the content of your C:\ drive.

ROFS3 in original firmwares, contains all kind of data. Usually customisations by Operators or applications depending on your region.
In my CFW, the ROFS3 is not important, unless you need additional languages.

Choose your Version

You have to copy the files you need to the correct folder, so Phoenix can recognise them.
As an example I will use "The One Reloaded v4.2.0".

"RM-807 The One Reloaded v4.2.0.rar"
-the package contains all files you need for English only!
-other versions may also contain additional languages (see changelog)

If you need additional languages for menu or keyboard, check the download section for translations by freaxs_r_us.
Replace the files from my original "RM-807 The One Reloaded v4.2.0.rar" with the files from his additional package (usually ROFS2 and/or ROFS3).

Copy all files from the packages you choose to
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-xxx"
or
"C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-xxx"
(path depends on your Windows version; replace "RM-xxx" with the RM number of your phone)

Make sure only my files are stored in that folder!

To increase the free space on C:\ take a look at this tutorial here:
Partition Manager: C Drive Extension

Prepare your Phone

Backup
If possible, use the built-in file browser for backups (you need a microSDHC).
I can not recommend Nokia Suite, many people (including myself) have  bad experiences with that method.

For best results, do NOT backup "Apps", "Settings" & "Files".
Especially when you flash a different base version, restoring the settings mentioned above can cause bugs.

Clean up E:\ and F:\
This step is optional, but recommended.
E:\ and F:\ will not be formatted/deleted by flashing... that's why I recommend to clean up the system files, to prevent conflicts with the new firmware.

The easiest way is, to turn off the phone and connect it via USB to your computer.
It will connect in "USB Mass Memory Mode" and you have full access to all files and folders.

You can now clean up your drives.
I usually delete all files and folders, except for the ones that only contain my personal data.
(folders I keep are:"\DCIM; \Images; \Music; \Videos; \Backup; and some personal folders)

As an alternative, you could also format both drives to start with a clean system.

Disconnect your device now.
To prevent the phone from recreating the deleted system files, do not turn on you phone again, until you are done with the flashing process.

Flash via Phoenix

I am going to tell you, how to flash via "Dead phone USB flashing", its easy and safe to use!
This how to is for Phoenix v2012.24.000.48366, but works similar on all Phoenix versions.

1. start Phoenix
2. go to "File" -> "Open Product" -> choose "RM-XXX" (number depends on your phone)
3. go to "Flashing" -> "Firmware Update"
4. hit the 3 dots button next to product code and choose the firmware
5. check "Dead phone USB flashing"
6. hit "Options" and the file list will open
-"RM-XXX_*.emmc.fpsx" is marked in red, remove it from the list and close the list
7. hit "Refurbish", IGNORE the instructions about how to connect the phone... just click "OK"
8. connect the (turned off) phone via USB, without pressing any button!
9. wait until the flashing process is done!

After flashing

Your phone will start up automatically and you have to complete the basic setup.
After that, you can change the settings to your preferences, reinstall your applications and restore your backup.

I removed a lot of built-in applications, if you are missing something check the "Tools" section in my Blogs "Download" tab. Installers for everything that was removed are in there and can easily be reinstalled!

  1. Hello, The_One!
Thanks for the latest of your belle releases, mush pleased with the new firmware modifications :)I've just manage to load up 4.1.0 without maps using the above mentioned procedure...
Everything went well but before the flashing was complete my phone froze at the "NOKIA TEST MODE" screen. Phoenix later said that flashing was incomplete. I had disconnected the phone and held the power button down for 8secs, now it works fine....
Is this going to cause any problems, have I made any mistake?
    Waiting eagerly for your reply.
    Thank You

    1. you will be fine...
depending on your combination of pc hard- & software and your phone, this message can pop up after flashing.
it just means the connection was lost during the test mode (flashing was complete!)
sometimes its just bad luck, i flashed lots of times and it happens to me too once in a while...

  2. Hi, The One.

Just started downloading V4.1 of your CFW. I saw the change log, what do you mean by Photo editor moved to ROFS2? I don't know how ROFS2 works so, wanted to ask.

I will be installing it later today. Thanks for the awesome work and helping us by giving a very good firmware.

nothing to do for you, just flash the files and the editors will work fine... everything is taken care of;)

I have a busy life and I appreciate your work and dedication.
I have the other version I have the other version which works great and I have no problem,

    do I need this version?
    is much difference?

If yes, do i have to do the MASTER RESET after flashing the phone?

Thanks, I'm from California and my neighbors and I we say thank you.

    1. v4.1.0 is based on the latest official belle!
therefore it also comes with the latest library's to support apps like nokia drop/reader or cnn.

as I wrote in the description ("about hard-resets"), you should never do a reset!
if you clean up you mass memory and mem card, you will have a fresh system right after flashing!

I cleaned the files, they are already free of nokias preinstalled garbage!

  7. I try to flashit right now, but i open the ZIP file and shows 8 files?
I only want English (with maps) how manny files do i put in phoenix menu? all, 2, 3 ????

    Why so many files?

    1. there never was much less files, since we don't need anna files to flash belle anymore...

just copy/paste all files from my package into the phoenix-folder, like the how to says.

for english only, it is very easy, no need to modify the file list itself.
everything is taken care of for you

(let me know via email if you need more help about flashing)

    1. hi,
this firmware is created for the nokia n8, i don't think it would work when you flash your 701 with my cfw...

different camera hardware/resolution settings would just be one of the problems you would have (assuming the firmware would boot up (which i highly doubt)).

fyi the n8 has a fm transmitter;)

    3. you are welcome;)

take a look at daily mobile forum, i am sure there are other cfw's, compatible to your phone.

(i don't have a 701, so i am not going to create a cfw for that phone... i don't want to release something i cannot test before)

  9. Hi, the phoenix cannot detect my phone after i reach this step, 4. hit the 3 dots button next to product code and choose the firmware (if you only have my files in your "\RM-596" folder, there is only one option)
after i opened the 3dots i saw nothing in the lists, what is happened? did i missed out anything?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. there are two options...

      option 1
you did not copy all files from the archives i provided into your phoenix folder

      option 2
you copied the files into the wrong directory.

      ***
Copy all files from the package you choosed to
      "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-596"
      or
      "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-596"
      (depending on your Windows version)
      ***

      use "\Program Files (x86)\" for 32bit Windows, \"Program Files\" for 64bit Windows.
some people make the mistake by putting the firmware into "my documents\phoenix".

  10. Hi, Thanks for your wonderful work. Finally decided to flash to your CFW. If I want to flash to the_one_belle_v4.1.0_for_full-translations, can I use v3.1.1_Chinese_PRC?
The contents of v3.1.1_Chinese_PRC is a rofs2, even though you are replacing your rofs3 in your step6, is this correct ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. as you may see, my cfw reached version 4.4.0.
that version is very different from v3.1.1 do not mix up those files!

v4.4.0 is easier to install, if you want full translation just take the english "no maps" edition and flash it together with rofs3 by nekeule... updated tutorial is now online

  11. Looks like I will have to wait for nekeule to release V4.4.0 Chinese. Thanks
Thanks alot. Else I would have started flashing and prolly bricked my phone.

  12. Cant flash my phone using 4.6.1...It just dont boot...It only shows black screen and NOKIA,then it shutdown again...Anyone also have this problem?..

    1. hi mhex8,
i think there are two possible reasons...
      (assuming you did everything correctly)
-are you using a rofs3 for writing language (if yes, which one)?
-did you install the new leaked belle first (v111.040.x)? if yes, you need to downgrade via scandinavia firmware first

remember v4.6.1 is for english only, do not use full translations by nekeule (because of the new music player)

    2. Thanks...I already fixed it..More power...Keep the good work

  13. Hi,

thx in advance for the cfw!

I have the problem, that flashing process won't start, because:

    <<<
<<<The flashing failed. Do you want to retry the flashing?
    <<<
    <<<HRESULT 0x8401f141 (-2080247487)
    <<<
<<<Flash: Boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. Unable to start <<<flashing.

I have no ideas whatsoever. Usual update to Belle via Nokia Suite doesnt work neither (Error 12017)

Thanx so much for your help!

    4. hi kevin,
if you flash for the first time (or first time after pheonix update/different usb port), windows needs to install the device drivers.
that may take a while and phoenix gives you a timeout.
try again with the same configuration and follow the tutorial exactly.

that way it will work for sure.
if not, try to contact me via email/msn...

  14. Hi,

    I have Taylor's Nokia N8 Pro Edition V7 (111.040.0904).
If i need to install your CFW can i do it directely or should i start from PR1 version. If so how do i do that? do you have any tutorial?

    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i don't have a special tutorial for that, but it is similar to the one i put up here...

installing older firmware version is usually not possible. but there is a glitch in the scandinavian (v11.5 or v11.9 or something like that) firmware, that lets you downgrade to PR1.0.

so flash your phone with the scandinavian firmware and you will be able to update to my cfw.
(flash it the same way as every other cfw/ofw)

I just updated to 4.7.0 and I had a lot of trouble with the "boot rom not loaded" error. Turns out you need to disable antivirus and your firewall (in my case the win7 build-in one). after that, no more problems.

    1. hi Ryan,

i answered this question already, sorry for the copy/paste :P

i will put up a full "how to flash the 808" tutorial, as soon as i have time to write it...

in the mean time you can use the current how to from my description.

      only differences are:
-instead of "\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-596" copy the firmware files to the RM-807 folder

      -different steps in phoenix itself
      2. go to "File" -> "Open Product" -> choose "RM-807"
      6. hit "Options" and the file list will open, remove the red file in the list ("RM-807_M005.07.emmc.fpsx")

everything else is exactly the same as in the current tutorial!
(contact me via email if you need further support)

you need the latest phoenix from my tools section to flash the 808

it doesn't have to be connected, just make sure its enabled.
(people reported that it works that way on my cfw)

      3. i remember one person who reported similar problems like this, but he fixed it by doing a clean reflash (formating e:\ and f:\ and using refurbish).

the "best" belle cfw is a matter of taste.
mine is bugfree, very clean and doesn't bring many ui customizations by default. if you like that, you can give it a try...

besides my own cfw i can recommend belle delight by nicesoni_ash, which is very popular.

you have to decide for yourself which one is best for you...

don't forget that since you are on v111.040. you need to downgrade via scandinavian firmware first, before you can install belle v111.030 again.

  23. Very nice firmware mod, however did I miss why there is no PDF support anymore? Do I have to install it myself somehow (if so how?).

  24. followed the instructions to the letter after making sure all drivers were installed- nokia suite/phoenix. got as far as 100% programming then phoenix failed to communicate with the phone. tried flashing again but now it doesnt see the phone. all i get is blinking white nokia logo. i had v113.1507 installed. did i mess up trying to install your v113.1506? only have the phone a few days. is it dead? what do i do?

    1. .1507 is higher than .1506 (my cfw)
you can not downgrade your device so simple... on the n8 (and other 1st gen symbian devices), it was possible to downgrade.
for example via scandinavian pr1.0 fw...

so far there is no confirmed downgrade possibility that works on 2nd gen symbian devices.
you can not install my cfw, as long as its based on a lower version number...

Should I clean up both of these??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. if you do not have an internal memory (e.g. the 16gb mass memory, on n8 and 808), you don't have a e:\ drive.

on the x7 you only have to clean up f:\ (your memory card).
when you flash via refurbish, c:\ (phone memory) will be formated automatically

    1. depends on what you want to do.

this blog is mainly about my custom firmware (see description).
if you want to install my cfw, you can not use nokia suite.
to flash my cfw you need "Phoenix" (available in my tools section)...

if you want to update to official belle you can use nokia suite of course.

but to "play" with different modifications you need to use a cfw or at least hack your phone...
      (cfw's are usually pre-hacked)

    1. Hi Otto,

Sounds like your computer doesn't really like that phoenix version.
I suggest to uninstall your current version and try to use v2012.24.000.48366.

Disable your Antivirus during the installation...
after a new installation, your PC probably needs one or two attempts to install the drivers for your phone, so don't give up if your first test fails!

v2012.24.000.48366 seems to work best for most users as far as i can tell.

    4. The bad blocks problem is not really a big deal, but if you want to resolve it, then flash with Scandinavian downgrade method, then hardest it and them flash your wished fw. Explanation: just for example, let's day your phone has 100 blocks, and your firmware (z:) only has 80 blocks. Let's say you flash a firmware with 70 blocks onto that, that means 10 blocks haven't been overwritten...they are useless, but sometimes not fully erased....that is a bad block. They are useless because its like a puzzle piece in the puzzle box twice. Understand?

      Delete
    5. I think I understand. Because that 10 blocks are now beyond the actual size of the firmware they would now be like an unpartitioned space left in a hard disk (if it were a pc) so the operating system is not taking into account anymore (that left space is not seen by the OS)am I in the right track?
Thanks for your response, i know I am taking your time from having translations ready before christmas :)

    1. If you are running a 64 bit system, then follow these steps. I am st work right now, so I must do it by memory. Go to your folder options on window and let it show hidden folders. Then go to your Phoenix window and open Options at the top bar of the first window. There is something called product location. Open it and configure the product location on the box on top. Erase the wrong directory.

But if I select te product and I look at Phoenix.
Phoenix shows in the bottom bar: ready RM-596|no product|'some signs'.
How does it come he says he has no product??

I think this results in why I am getting this error:
HRESULT: 0x8401f141: boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. unable to start flashing.

Looking for the internet right now :) .

    4. did this message appear directly after you connected the phone or did it take a while 'till this message poped up?

usually happens the first few times when you try to flash your phone, because the windows drivers are not ready.

when you connect the phone, the drivers start installing.
it takes to long and the phone just boots up in "usb mass memory mode"... in that mode you can not flash of course.

just try again a few more times.

use another version of phoenix and it will work.

for 1st gen symbian devices, i recommend v2011.38.x
for 2nd gen, v2012.24.x works for me

    1. I am not sure what exactly you are asking...

If you are asking about the flashing process, there is no difference. Flashing works the same way on all Symbian phones... you can use this tutorial for every phone you like.

If you are asking about my custom firmware itself.
      There are big differences!
Do not flash firmwares from other phones to your C7!!

Even though most of the Software is the same, there are many differences when it comes to Hardware.

  52. ALREADY POSTED IN DAILYMOBILE:

I have a very annoying issue that's driving me crazy.
I have a Nokia 808 white, and this is my Install log:

*Bought the phone, original firmware.. "OK"..
Downloaded "Phoenix Service Software 2012.24.000.48366" from THE ONE, follow the flashing tutorial and..
*Installed "THE ONE" 3.3.1.. "OK".. no problem,
Used the CFW for a long time, really happy and, found that 3.4.0 has been released,
I decided to update, but first, to try another CFW to see if I like it, then move again to THE ONE.
*Installed "THE ONE" 3.4 by error, (what I really wanted was to install the other CFW first.. to try it).
No problem!, since it flashed/installed smoothly, perfectly, "OK".. Now.. let's try that other one to check if I like it.
*Installed the other CFW perfectly!.. "OK"..
Well, I love it!, but I prefeer "The One"..so..let's flash again..

*TRIED to Install "THE ONE" 3.4 the same way and.. Error 0x8401F121 communicating to phone. Unable to verify comm.
Warning: Unable to communicate to product after flashing.
And the screen don't stop showing the NOKIA logo.. . . restart.. NOKIA logo.. restart.. NOKIA logo.. and doesn't boot correctly.
When the "programming data sent" reach 60%..70%..80%..90%..and finishes, I hear the PC doing that sound it does when you unplug the phone (or a mouse or any other thing), the phone starts trying to boot, and after a while, the "Verifying communication to device...
Waiting for communication response: 25..34.." starts..finishes..and the communication with the phone is always FAILURE.

Looking for answers, I proceeded this way:
*Angry downloaded the Original Firmware with NaviFirm.. flashed smoothly.. "OK"..
*Tried THE ONE 3.4.. "SAME ERROR"..
*Tried that other CFW again to check, flashed smoothly.. "OK"..
*Tried THE ONE 3.3.1..the older version that used to work.. "SAME ERROR"..
And now I'm using that other CFW again, since I don't like the original and can't install THE ONE.

Here's the problem. I was able to install 3.31 perfectly, then updated to 3.4 the same way!, I tried the other CFW and when I decided to go back to 3.4, I can't!. I tried everything, did the Dead Phone flashing correctly step by step and nothing!.

I have win7 64x, have the files in the 32x directory, tried in another PC, tried everything found online and no solution!.
I also tried this --> http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.php?topic=57448.0 but my phone is not a N8, the problem is that when the "waiting for communication response" 25.....24......23.... comes up, I disconnect the phone, it turns off and.. If I switch it on, the NOKIA logo starts.. but doesn't boot correctly. Looking around I found that those steps works only with N8, with any other phone you have to remove the battery and THEN turn it on, still, it's too late, the boot screen problem starts automaticaly when the ProgrammingDataThing finishes, no matter if i unplug, remove battery or what, it doesn't fix it.

Now I have 3 days looking for answers, tried everything, and decided to post here looking for help.. Embarrassed ..

Sorry for the long post, sorry for the bad english, and Thanks in advice.

the error code you mentioned is well known.
there is a simple solution for your problem, use another version of phoenix ;)

every phone/pc is slighly different, not every combination works with all phoenix versions.

      in my experience:
-"Phoenix Service Software 2011.38.003.46817" works best for 1st gen devices like the Nokia N8

-"Phoenix Service Software 2012.24.000.48366" works best for 2nd gen devices like the Nokia 808

both versions are available in my blogs "Download" section (Tools -> Windows Applications)

      8. Now hit the options button, just beneath SW Reset button and a window will appear. - Delete: RM-596_M005.50.emmc.fpsx

      i have flash to 6.2 n everything's good even admin(huellif) said it's impossible for me 2 flash
without those step but yah i did it :)...i also successful launch updater n restore backup
      n everything perfect.

is there any effect i skip those step?and what is that red file about?
      TQ..

    3. usually you have to remove that entry in the list, or else phoenix won't start flashing.

if it starts flashing however, it doesn't matter anymore.

usually you get stuck in the process, if you don't remove that file. if you can continue (don't know why you were able to do that) its all good, nothing to worry about ;)

      fyi:
for official firmwares, the "emmc" file is the content of the E:\ drive. it usually contains wallpapers, demo videos, demo games, etc.
      nothing you really need!

thats why we don't need that file in our cfw's, but phoenix will recognise the file is missing and will mark it "red".
usually you can not flash with "red files" in your list, which means you have to remove them to continue flashing.

      another fyi:
you can not remove all files from the list, some of them are very important. for example, if you remove the core or rofs2, your device will brick during the flash and you will have to flash again to bring it back to life.
the emmc is not important and therefore can be removed/excluded for flashing.

    1. there are two ways.

      by flashing:
-use the nokia cooker to open my core or rofs2
-overwrite the existing (original) avkon2.mif in \resource\apps\
-save the firmware files and reflash your phone

      by patch:
use the "Chris-joshlog MOD" by ichris701 to change all sorts of mif files from c:\ without flashing.
you can find the mod here:
      http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.php?topic=79475.0
(get the FP2 version for the 808)

      instructions for the patch
-copy all *.mif from z:\resource\apps to c:\resource\apps (also the ones you don't want to change!)
-apply the patch by putting it into c:\sys\bin\ and restart your phone
-replace the original *.mif files in c:\resource\apps with your own

    ReplyDelete
  67. follow the exact same steps, but replace the cfw files with the original firmware files.

you can download the stock firmware via phoenix (data package downloader).

    ReplyDelete
  68. Thanks for the info. I've also read somewhere, that I cannot downgrade. So if I install your 1508 based firmware on the Pureview 808, is it still possible to go back to 1507 stock firmware (the only one available in Phoenix).

    ReplyDelete
  69. that is correct, the Nokia 808 can not be downgraded!
once on 1508, you can not go back to lower versions.

but there are stock-1508 firmwares, which can be downloaded via phoenix, by entering a different product code... if you need a 1508 stock firmware, i can also upload one for you.

if you are worried about the support, all i can say is, that nokia care centers don't care much about this...
i sent my 808 into repair twice, both times with a firmware not officially available for my product code, and they repaired it without any problems.

and if you are not sure about this, you can always change the version number yourself. so that a 1508 claims to be a 1507 in the device manager.
(this wont change the real version or the number in the bootloader, but should be enough to fool the care centers)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Thanks, I've flashed testi100's firmware now, which is based on yours and is 1507. So I could go back to stock if I need the service or if I sell the phone. Indeed it feels faster now and there is much less bloatware.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I don't know testi100 or his firmware.
But if its based on my latest 1507-release, it must be built on my v3.x, which is more than 6 months old!

Believe me, I made some major improvements in v4.x.
So I strongly recommend a update to my latest v4.2.0...

Like I said, the stock firmware issues is not really a problem.
Nokia Care Centers don't really care and just to be cautious, you can simply flash 1508 ofw... if you run into any problems.

    ReplyDelete
  72. OK, I'll try your most recent firmware. Could you give me the product code to download the 1508 original firmware with Phoenix? So I could keep this one as backup.

  80. Hello Daniel,

since 2 years I use my N8 and I still love it. Unfortunately it becomes slower and freezes more often. Therefore I want to flash my cellphone wiith your latest cfw including cleaning up E:\ an F:\. I read all the instructions and many of your postings here, but there are still some unanswered questions I need some more information about. If you are too busy to help me, maybe you can help me with links to other interesting websites. It's mostly about Symbian Basics I think. I really tried to find some information about this, but was not successful with that.

    1) I collected more than 500 contacts in my phonebook and it would be a great desaster if they got lost while flashing. How can I export all names and numbers as an .csv file to have a backup. In which file are all the names and numbers saved and how can I get them back to the phone after flashing? You don't recommend OVI Suite for backup. What do you think about Oxygen Phone Manager?

    2) I use some helpful apps an my phone. For some of them I paid money. It would be sad to lose them. How can I save the apps from my phone before flashing? Where do I find the files? How can I get them back to the phone afterwards?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. THX.

  82. Just want to say Thanks and give credit, to you! Great work on the CFW!
If nokia had done this themself they wouldn't had to sell themself out to MS.

  84. Hello altogether,

today I finally found some time to work on my N8 again. There's a very simple solution to export your contacts as an .csv-file. Just download the old Nokia PC Suite and connect your N8 via USB. Mark all the contacts and use 'export' from the file-menu. It's so easy, but when you search the forums an the www nobody can help. What's wrong with the people?

  85. I still need help with finding the installation files from my apps on the phone and save them on the PC. Who knows how to do that?

  86. Sorry for the late reply.
I assume you are talking about apps downloaded from the Nokia Store?

There are multiple ways to do that...

    for free apps only:
-browse the store via PC (store.ovi.com) and find your app
-the link in the address bar will look like this (e.g. after searching for whatsapp) "http://store.ovi.com/content/62616?clickSource=homepage&contentArea=home&pos=4"
-manually edit the address in your browser and delete everything after the number (in this case 62616), then add "/download"
-your address will look like this: "store.ovi.com/content/62616/download" hit enter and your download will start

You must be logged-in in the store and it only works for free apps!

    For all apps:
If you are using my CFW (actually works on most CFW's), you can create a folder in E:\ or F:\ called "Installserver".

Everything you install from now on, will be extracted to this folder.
Based on the extracted contents of those folders, you can now create your own sis-installer using SISContents.

You may also able to find the installers you are looking for online in forums/blogs. Although I encourage you to use the "legal" way and not to support piracy ;)

I hope this helps to point you into the right direction!
